Crowdfunding 101: The importance of branding

Branding is everything. You can have a great product but if you create a brand that doesn’t speak to anyone or resonate with people then you won’t have a successful venture.
Creating a brand is so much more than outsourcing a logo and creating an “About Us” and this is where so many startups go wrong. This is especially so when a startup turns to crowdfunding to launch their business. You have 30 days (the average) to get people behind your product or service and a great brand strategy could make all the difference to a successfully backed campaign.
Branding is fundamental. Good branding will build value, recognition and a following that will ultimately keep you in business.
Take a look at some of my favorite branding from different crowdfunding campaigns. What’s your favorite?
Sesame was an incredible product that was highly successful on Kickstarter but I loved their super simple branding and video. Great example of not “overdoing” it.
The Paragon induction cook top Indiegogo had some of the best branding. With their beautiful infographics and logo, it was no wonder they brought in more than $300,000.
The Passion Planner campaign had one of the best brand stories and messaging to date. From the video to the imagery, they nailed it.
