How to be like your hero

If you want to make a difference, you need to pay the price of greatness

Think about your hero, mentor, or someone you truly admire. Chances are you respect them because of things they've accomplished, the way they treat you, or the impact they have made on others.

I’m no mind reader, but I can tell you two things about the person you are thinking about.

  1. They are not perfect.
  2. They had to overcome difficult obstacles.

Many times we get frustrated because we compare our beginning to others’ middle. If you want to be great at something you've got to understand that it’s going to take time, you’re going to fail, and you’re going to be required to overcome very difficult circumstances—just like your hero.
