Thank you for a good read.
All empires grow and later decline. You are probably right about China. I am old enough to recall the U.S decision to not recognise China. They isolated themselves and adopted self reliance. Never bled their treasures over the last century intervening in foreign wars, some necessary and some, just adventures by another name.
Though I found your article very interesting, I think that references to Western industry and culture slanted.
Hoping that China transitions politically from an authoritarian state might be much more difficult and risky than assumed. As the society opens up, their religious, ethnic and other minority’s, long suppressed will assert their rights. What happens then? Rural China doesn’t appear to be at ease with their lot.
China still has Tibet, wants Hong Kong and sees no moral problem with North Korea dehumanising its present population. China’s geopolitical interests, I understand.
The good, on the other hand, is China’s economic expansion into Africa. So far, so good.
Thanks again.
