News from My Writing World: September 2018

Wait. It’s September already?!

Did you know that September 4th is Eat an Extra Dessert Day? (I’m in!) 🍰 And you’ll need to get off your bum on the 6th in observance of National Fight Procrastination Day. (Which is something I need to do if I want to get my next book finished!) 📚

I am having a lot of fun with my new novel, The Murder of Leopold Beckenbauer. I am about 12,000 words into the first draft and hope to have this murder mystery/thriller finished by the end of September or early October. I plan on publishing it before the holidays!

My last research trip took me to the Music Museum in Greenville, SC, where I spent a whole afternoon studying their extensive early piano exhibit. This was my favorite out of all the instruments I saw that day, a spinet harpsichord made in 1748.

I had fun with all my research, but I am very happy to be in the writing stage now!

Other News from My Writing World

I recently contributed a short story to an anthology based on the theme “Fire.” I’m pleased to announce that this collection will be released next month! My fellow writers and I are looking for a few people who love short fiction to join our advance team. Here’s the cover:

What does it mean to be on an advance team? Basically, it means you will get a FREE digital copy of the book and hopefully be inspired to leave a review of the anthology on Amazon once the book is published. If you are interested, contact me via my contact page and I’ll make sure you get your FREE copy!

In other news, the audiobook production of my novel, The Sinking of Bethany Ann Crane, is underway. And I recently received this lovely review for my debut novel.

It’s been a while since I’ve read any good sci-fi, so I recently picked up Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. I’m only about halfway through the book, but this story about a six-year-old boy being forced into training for the next space war has got me reading faster than normal. I find the concept fascinating.

Thanks for stopping by my writing world! If you have a question or comment for, leave me a comment below or get in touch via one of the social links in my bio, and I’ll get back in touch ASAP.

Until next time, happy reading and writing!

Kris
