27 Unique Facts About Me…

Being a reserved person makes me cautious about what I put out about myself, especially online. However, working in the tech industry that doesn’t always work — so I tend to break my own comfort zone every once in a while. It’s a constant love / hate battle; Yin and Yang.

So, with the bornday recently passing and no biscuits of wisdom this time round I instead am opting for more open and honest approach with my audience. So here are 27 unique facts about me and my adventures in life so far.

1. Have once been stranded on an island

It was 2010 and I was in Jamaica 🇯🇲 with the better half. The Icelandic volcano blew and an ashcloud so big it shutdown flights worldwide causing our 11 day honeymoon to be 31 days. Might sound amazing (in hindsight it was) but wasn’t at the time; when we were stranded with no way to get home.

2. I enjoy running

It’s my switch-off from the world. I tend to do more road running than anything else and have started to sign up to official races. I wrote about my first official half a marathon a few years back where I raised over £700 for charity.

3. Was once asked for I.D at gunpoint

Circa 2004. It was some ungodly hour at Geneva airport. @nirmalruprai and I went to visit a friend and were travelling back home to the U.K. Back in those days I didn’t care about the times of flights, as long as they were cheap. Having checked and and explored as much as possible we ended up going to the airport early with many hours to spare. So we got there and relaxed / fell asleep on the seats. When we woke up we were being rushed by security 😑.

4. I love being creative

Although I had a turbulent introduction, I work in the tech industry designing websites, logo’s and also love to also sketch / doodle / paint / photography and all- in-between including Coding! I enjoy having fun trying new things and challenging myself wherever possible.

5. Bit of a sneaker addict

I own a lot of shoes.

6. Lost my iPod for over a year!

And my neck. Every damn day. Almost nearly every hour! The struggle is real.

9. Had a near death experience

I was with family, traveling to around India. This particular incident we were on our way to Agra and were driving through the night. The roads in India are not the safest in daylight let alone at night. Our driver fell asleep at the wheel. I woke up suddenly to screams, our van swerving on 2 wheels across all lanes and ended up on the other side of the road. Close.

10. Am bit of a movie geek

Ok not just a bit but a lot; a serious movie geek.
