Yello Mobile, DAYLI (Financial Group) and FSN (FutureStream Networks) co-held a blockchain and marketing conference on May 15th at L Tower in Yangjae, Korea. Yello Mobile is a big venture alliance worth 4 trillion won. CEO Sanghyuk Lee of Yello Mobile created a profit of 300 billion won in 3 years, and he was ranked as the 34th richest man in Korea. When CEO Sanghyuk Lee initially founded the company, many doubted its success. However, now people suggest if Yello Mobile ceases to exist in the IT industry in Korea, the industry would be shaken. This shows how much of an impact Yello Mobile has in Korea’s IT industry.

CEO Heeyong Lee explains KStarCoin at Yello Mobile’s Blockchain and Marketing Conference.

The atmosphere in the conference was intense as people gave speeches. In the conference, they discussed the present and future of marketing under the influence of blockchain, as well as what problems digital marketing is facing now and how to utilize blockchain for potential value in the future.

Sessions were divided into four sections: blockchain disruption in marketing, blockchain now in marketing, blockchain in the future, and a networking party. After the first session of keynote speeches, discussions were held regarding how blockchain will revolutionize the digital ecosystem of the digital marketing industry. Following the session, blockchain disruption into data marketing was also discussed.

Several participants of the conference were KStarCoin (by KStarLive), Airblock, O2Opay, and foundationX, which are all marketing companies applying blockchain technology into data marketing. They shared thoughts on how blockchain technology can offer solutions for the marketing industry such as improving brand stability, transparency, and a reward system for users. Also, the participants explored cases related to Steemit’s potential value.

KStarCoin stood out for both its similarities and differences from Steemit. KStarLive is a Facebook-based platform for Hallyu content, which delivers news related to K-stars, including K-pop and K-drama, in English to fans all around the world. KStarCoin insisted, “A person who made efforts deserves the profit that they have created.” This is the major difference from Steemit, since Steemit’s whales have all the power in community and influence others heavily. However, KStarCoin suggested that through blockchain technology, they will build a democratic community for their users all around the world while solving problems of the purchase system and ticket scalping.

At the networking party, the CEO of KStarCoin confidently said that the application of this blockchain technology into marketing will revolutionize their business and they expect bigger and better things from this revolution. At the end of the party, one of the organizers, FSN, said, “I hope this was our opportunity to share knowledge for our innovation of a business model in the digital marketing industry.”
