For those who are unfamiliar, Lori Vallow Daybell was convicted May 12, 2023 of killing two of her children, 16-year old Tylee Ryan and 7-year old JJ Vallow. She was also convicted of conspiracy to commit murder in the death of Tammy Daybell. Tammy was the wife of Lori’s current husband, Chad Daybell.

The children went missing in September 2019.

However, their bodies were not found until June 2020 in the backyard of Chad’s home. Tylee’s remains showed signs of being dismembered and burned; JJ was asphyxiated by plastic and duct tape around his mouth. Tammy was alleged to have died in her sleep in October 2019 but a second examination of her remains in December of that same year showed signs of asphyxiation which led to her death being ruled a homicide.

Lori did not testify during her trial.

I think most of us were curious to hear what Lori had to say at the sentencing hearing, if anything at all. While I had very little hope she would express remorse or even take responsibility, I was disgusted at how she handled her time to speak.

In a 9-minute, mostly religious statement that has people scratching their heads, Lori used the name of Jesus 9 times. She also seemed convinced all three of her victims are “busy”…
