School of Business to kick off annual Marketing Week

Marketing Week 2016 featured industry experts who shared their experience in marketing analytics with School of Business students.

The School of Business will host Marketing Week from Monday, Sept. 11, through Thursday, Sept. 14, as a way for students to learn from visiting professionals and gain exposure to the marketing field and its opportunities.

Marketing Week is the largest annual marketing-related event at the School of Business. This year’s week of events focuses on the customer experience.

Marketing professionals will visit classes and share their experiences and expertise with students. Marketing Night will be Sept. 13 and will include a keynote presentation at 6:30 p.m. by Stanton Kawer, chairman and CEO of Blue Chip Marketing Worldwide, in the Dicus Family Auditorium (room 1111).

Joyce Claterbos, lecturer and organizer of Marketing Week, says that the week’s events are an opportunity for students to understand how the marketing they’ve been studying in the classroom really works for companies.

“The students learn about different career paths in marketing so they can make a more informed choice about where they might want to work,” Claterbos said. “Marketing Week is also a way to build strong connections between our students, the School of Business and working professionals. We have guest speakers that ask to return again and again because they enjoy our students and really want to contribute to our students’ success.”
