I’ve Been Cheek’d!

It was almost a year ago when I decided to leave my job as a head trader of FX and precious metals in a firm back in Dubai UAE to pursue my MBA at Hult International Business School. At that time I had no idea where I am going to end up. I knew one thing: I needed to change my lifestyle. After coming to Boston and starting my one year program I found a big number of enthusiasts professionals had taken the same journey as me. I studied and worked with more than fifty nationalities at my program! The idea of that only would have been crazy for me two years earlier. I have learnt how to work in a very diverse teams of different backgrounds and nationalities. The game changer for me was during my forth module when I took a design thinking class with Mike Grandinetti (@mikegrand1) one of the most influential professors at Hult. I made my mind that I will fit best in a start up environment.

I decided to move to NYC to start looking for an opportunity and continue my dream: Being a New Yorker!

I met a lovely New Yorker and woman entrepreneur Lori Cheek. She invited me to join her team to work on a next big dating app which is going to change the concept of dating virtually! It’s called Cheek’d.

So here I am writing about the first day of joining the Cheek’d team at Alley NYC. I have decided to write about my experience here where good number of start ups work, interact, socialize and basically live together!

I have decided to talk about my day to day life here in Alley and NYC in this blog. Since I am in the middle of the action of the start up world in the east coast I will keep this blog updated.
