Doodling — magical tool for remembering more and faster
Being a student means having a lot of new information coming in every day. Unless you’re born with superpowers or you’re some kind of a prodigy theres no way a brain could remember and process all of this, without training. One way to help the brain remember more is doodling while taking notes and after.
Theres lots of ways how doodling can improve processing new information. In this article I found couple of them (gave me some new ideas also):

However, this article doesn’t tell you about a couple of the most useful things, how doodling may be the best tool for remembering new information:
- You can use different doodles/symbols for every new category of information (for example when the topic is about baking a pie, you can draw there a little pie, when it’s about frying the rice, you can draw there a little bowl of rice with chopsticks or a chinese man — whatever applies to rice for you). That way you will remember what you were talking about during the class by only taking a look for a moment on your notes.
Thats how my notes used to look like:

and that’s how they look right now:

On the second picture you can already see how I categorize topics to make it more clear and to find information easier but in my mind it’s missing some symbols to understand right away which topics are covered when I look at the sheet.
2) You can use doodles in presentations to make unique posters which will definitely attract listeners attention while helps them to remember information you’re giving them.
To improve doodling skill I took a new sketchbook and started to draw every little doodle I found drawable. Theres around 25 pages of doodles by now and here’s just some of them to give you an example:
