Crazy

This piece is the first in a series of posts featuring oils I painted from 2006 to 2012 that explored my interest in layered work. This painting began with a fine brush but was finished entirely with pallet knives.

Crazy, original oil by Kai Dailey copyright 2006.

“Crazy” began as a dancing woman with wild red hair. Magically, after multiple layers, she slowly transformed into an undulating dance of abstract color that depicts the essence of her rhythm rather than her physical form. I love the suggestive movement of this piece. It’s one of my favorites.

Warmly,

Kai Lynn Dailey
