“migo_daplug” is an Instagram drug dealers. He publicly posts his cell phone number, uses hashtags to find followers, and sell drugs through the mail. This is an Instagram niche I’v been watching for months now, waiting for the users to get arrested or accounts to get deactivated. But that hasn’t happened. Drug trade has been thriving on Instagram. Drug dealers have utilized the anonymous and international nature of Instagram to expand their reach. You can now find drug dealers on social media and have the goods directly mailed to your crib. The idea sounds ludicrous but its been going on successfully for at least a year, really popping off most recently. Screenshotted is the profile of one user in particular whom I’v been following. At first, this really did seem too easy to be true, but the positive user comments beg to differ. Dozens of people confirming orders and thanking the dealer for successful shipments would suggest this is all legit. This particular user has been posting the same phone number for all the months that I’v followed him. In fact, this guy has 70 posts hastagged with his number. Give him a call!

This sure beats The Silk Road or your friend of a friend of a friend.

To be sure, drugs have been mailed for a long time, however, dealers and customers would have to be connected covertly through the The Silk Road or through clandestine forums.

And his prices are better than most of what you can find on the East Coast. Go figure.

PS. This could also be the most inventive use of social media by the DEA ever.
