I doomed mankind with a free text editor
Morten Just

First, he-he-he, and second ‘good job’. Their reactions are someone predictable if you had but asked one question first. “What text editor do you use?”, in the land of Unix (and now Linux) it is the precursor to an explanation and a tirade or two. This might work in Windows or OS X as well.

The initial answer will be confined by the use of the editor, for code I use …, then more explanations will be required for a full screen version although today that would an actual GUI version. Then there will be a tirade if you state a differing opinion. Or there may be a tirade related to the politics of editing. So, in hindsight, I would say the response you received was the most likely response.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
