A New Generation of Wearable Tech

I was into wearables before the Pebble came out. Adafruit’s wonderful Flora processors could drive all sorts of belts, jewelry and even shoes. I backed the original Pebble on Kickstarter because it looked like a neat hack. Before that you had to buy an iPod Nano and a clunky band for it. When my Pebble came, I didn’t wear it. I can’t wear a watch. The bands chafe my skin, and I’ve had over fifty years trying to find a band that didn’t. My significant other, however, is wearing it. It has an amazing feature she just couldn’t find on any other watch, a face readable by someone farsighted. We downloaded a watch face with just three big numbers, and that was that: a usable watch.
