How to run Full node of Kali Coin on Ubuntu ?

A full node is a program that fully validates transactions and blocks. Almost all full nodes also help the network by accepting transactions and blocks from other full nodes, validating those transactions and blocks, and then relaying them to further full nodes.

If you wish to setup full node for Kali Coin on your Ubuntu, refer to the instructions below:

Open Terminal screen on your machine.

First thing is to add repository and then install dependencies. Type following command one by on on your terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bitcoin/bitcoin

After the Repo is added, install following dependencies one after another:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install build-essential
sudo apt-get install libssl-dev
sudo apt-get install libdb4.8-dev
sudo apt-get install libdb4.8++-dev
sudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev
sudo apt-get install libssl1.0.2
sudo apt-get install libqt4-dev libminiupnpc-dev
sudo apt-get install git

Now that you have installed all the dependencies, it is time to clone the Kali Coin Blockchain to your hard drive in order to compile it, to do so, type following command in your terminal screen:

git clone

After the source code is cloned on your drive, it is time to compile it:

cd kalicoin-core/src
make -f makefile.unix

You’ll see random lines of codes running on your screen. Nothing to worry, it is normal. This process might take few minutes or more depending on the speed of your PC.

After the compiling is successfully completed. There is one last step needed before we can start the Kali coin daemon.

Go to root folder and check if there is any directory with the name “.kalicoin”. to check that type

ls -al

Likely, directory should be there by in case if it isn’t make one using following command.

mkdir .kalicoin

Now enter the directory:

cd .kalicoin

We need to create a configuration file that will be used by the daemon.

nano kalicoin.conf

Press “control+x”

When asked press “Y” to and then press “Enter” to save it.

Now go back to Kali Coin directory:

cd /kalicoin-core/src

It is time to start the Kalicoin daemon service to sync with blockchain.

./kalicoind -daemon

After your have done it, press enter and you will see “kalicoin server starting” message on your screen.

To confirm whether your node is up and running, run following command on your screen

./kalicoind getinfo

If the command returns with information, then your node is running perfectly fine. If it doesn’t you have made some mistake some where.
