Devaramane

An exotic getaway nestled amidst of Shola forests in Western ghats and nature delight in the heart of Charmadi Ghats is 14 km away from Kambalakaad Holiday Home. Climbing those beautiful hillocks, crossing numerous streams and occasional waterfalls gives immense happiness. The variation in landscape allows the scope for both an arduous as well as a leisurely trek. The historical kaalabyraveshwara temple with a beautiful pond adds beauty to the place.

Ballalarayana Durga

A must trek destination for all those trekkers is Ballalarayana Durga.
There is a isolated fort that can only be reached by trekking through the hilly forest region. It stands in the midst of Chikmagalur’s Kottigehara village and the Kalasa temple-town with 22 kms away fromKottigehara. The fort was constructed during the Hoysala Empire in the 12th century. There is an ancient Kaalabyraveshwara temple that is situated just below the fort. The ruined fort stands as a distant reminder of its beautiful past. However, the beauty of the surrounding green luxurious forests with steep slopes has not dimmed over time. The ruined fort presents a breath-taking view of the surroundings. The engulfing greenery charms visitors.If you want to trek Ballalarayana Durga, it can be a day trek taking about 2 hrs to climb and an hr down.

Ethina bhuja

Ethina bhuja is also called shishilla gudda. It’s in the shape of the ox’s back /shoulder hence the name. Its an hillock which stands tall at 3000 feet from the sea level. The historical Nanya Bhaireshwara temple at the foot hills of the peak which is at a distance of 30 kms from Kottigehara.

It has two trekking routes once from the Mudigere side (Chikmagalur district) and the other from the shishilla, Dharmastrala side ( Dakshina kannada district). The trek from temple from Mudigere side is easily doable compared to shishila side. Its an about 3 kms trek one way and the result is beautiful view. The bald peak and the mist is beautiful making the view from the top amazing.

Mullayanagiri

The 1930 Metres tall Mullayanagiri is the highest peak in Karnataka. It is the best place to view a sunrise and is a part of the Bababudangiri Range, 45 km away from Kambalakaad Holiday Home. The peak is almost always covered with clouds and surrounded by a chilly breeze. Travelers can take their vehicles very near to the peak and then climb close to a 100 steps to reach the peak. All the effort seems worth when one reaches the misty top.

Kyatanamakki

Kyatanamakki hill station is located near Horanadu of Chikmagalur district of Karnataka, its a fully off road route 4x4 jeeps plays around the hill base to top. Kyathanmakki has two hillocks , one facing South East and other South West, a beautiful hill range comprising of multiple hills and surrounded by lush green vegetation during monsoon.This hill top offers 360 degree view of other hill places and lush green vegetation and is 56 kms away from Kottigehara.

Kudremukha

Kudremukh trek is an adventure buff’s dream come true. Standing tall as 1,894 metres above sea level and ranks third in terms of height after the Mullayanagiri and Bababudangiri peaks. It is around 60 kms away from Kambalakaad Holiday Home.

The Kudremukh Peak called the Himalayas of the South. Kudremukh also know as Kudremukha literally means ‘horse face’ because it is generally believed that this mountain range resembles the face of a horse. The trek unfurls lush green landscapes and beautiful meadows all along. Several gushing streams, dense Shola forests, rolling green hills, tall bamboo shrubs and the majestic peak itself in all its glory. The sharp and gusty winds and the magnificence peak will make you blown off.

Kemmangundi

Situated at an altitude of 1434 meter, Kemmangundi a favorite destination of trekking. This hill range is also known for its unique beauty in respect of geological and geographical exposures. Z-Point is a popular vantage point offering spectacular views of Western Ghats if traveling post monsoon. In monsoon, you won’t be able to see much due to heavy fog. Z-point is also the starting pointing of Kemmangundi - Baba Budan Giri trek. This place is about 100 kms away from Kottigehara.
