Every time we think of western ghats, it reminds us of green stretch, mountains, hills stitched together forming ranges, peaks and valley. Lashing rains in the monsoon months infuse a new life to western ghats. Streams flow into rivers, tumble down the narrow rock gorge forming a waterfalls that adds magic to the wilderness of nature. Hiding the remote corners of western ghats are several waterfalls. Some massive, some smaller.

Kadamagundi Falls or Didupe falls in Mundaje, near Balige village of Mudigere is also 26 km away.

Hanbal falls or Magajahalli falls in Devaladakere village of Sakleshpura is 40 kms away forming a bliss pool at the bottom.

Bandaje falls, also known as Bandaje Arbi falls is a waterfall located in the Charmadi ghat section of the Western Ghats in the Belthangady taluk. The height of waterfalls is about 200 feet. It is 44 km away from Kottigehara.

It offers an excellent view of the cascading water from the Chandra Drona Hill from 122 meters (400 ft) above in front of the Veerabhadreshwara Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This waterfall is 99 km away.

Hebbe falls is about 10 km away from the famous hillstation Kemmangundi in Chikamagalur. Hebbe Falls gushes down from a height of 551 ft in two stages to form Dodda Hebbe (Big Falls) and Chikka Hebbe (Small Falls). This is 111 kms away from Kottigehara.
