The formalism, which is reflected in 10M+ papers in physics and all possible life-sciences derivatives, makes a clear distinction between base-e and base-10 logarithms.

Beyond any doubt, I am sure you are aware of that, especially as a holder of PhD in math?

My article is not of “what would happen if” sort. As a matter of fact, is motivated by mistakes and documented misuse of log(x).

Personally, I would gladly accept any attempt to differentiate log(x) and ln(x) as it would make >90% of scientific code so much easier to read and debug.
