Here is my (2nd) analysis of the World Champion of Public Speaking-2018

Ramona Smith is the World Champion of Public Speaking -2018.

I assume you already listened to Ramona’s winning speech ‘Still Standing.’

If not, please listen here goo.gl/uHbJVR

I hope you already read my previous analysis of Ramona’s speech.

If not, please read here bit.ly/2wMKzSq

In my previous analysis, I focused on Ramona’s story part.

Now, I am focusing on Ramona’s message.

Ramona says,

“Life will sometimes feel like a fight.

Stay in the ring.

Learn from the past fights.

.

.

.

Use what you learnt from the previous fights.

At the end of each round, you will be still standing.”

Let’s remove ‘boxing’ to get Ramona’s core message.

The core message is:

“Learn from the past fights.

Use what you learnt from the previous fights.”

Is Ramona’s message new to the world?

NO.

It’s familiar to us. We have heard on many times, right?

Well.

As a speaker, most often we try to come with a new message.

But, the question is:

Is it possible to come with a new message?

NO.

Because all the messages already told. Our ancestors already did it.

So.

As a speaker, our job is just to remind the audience.

Yeah, you heard right. You just remind them.

Ramona’s success it’s not in her message.

It’s in the way Ramona reminds the audience.

Sound Different:

‘Still Standing’ is Ramona’s speech topic.

Let’s think about the topic for a moment, shall we?

Well.

Ramona also uses two more phrases in her speech.

1. Get Up

2. Stand Up

Both the phrases could be the topic. But, Ramona doesn’t prefer ‘Get Up or ‘Stand Up.’

Because they are familiar to us. We have heard on many times.

I have found two more topic to name Ramona’s speech.

1. Never Give Up

2. Don’t Give Up

Unfortunately, they also familiar to us.

Ramona wants to sound different. So, she has named her speech as ‘Still Standing.’

By the way, what’s your alternate topic for Ramona’s speech?
