As a vast majority of you might have already guess, the Kapsuli adventure officially comes to an end.
❤️ We loved this journey with you
5 years ago, we launched Kapsuli as a student project.
During this time, more than 10,000+ Twitch streamers have been using (or at least trying, uh-uh) our livetweeting platform to save time and get more views from social media.
If we take a quick look back at 2013, we were the very first guys on the internets to integrate Twitch inside Twitter… what a ride!
🙄 Problems and realities of life
But at the same time, we have been struggling to find a decent source of incomes with Kapsuli to keep developing the platform.
As you know, we explored many options but the 3 of us were obliged to take some full-time jobs on the side to fill up the fridge.
Months passing by, years passing by, we found it unfortunately harder and harder to spend serious time on Kapsuli. We’re sorry about this recent radio silence. We wanted to keep the platform up and free as long as we can but we definitely don’t have the ressources to maintain the project how we feel it deserves.
From Day1 we’ve always been 100% transparent with you so here’s the drop of water that has made the vase overflow in 2020 : a few months ago, a big update in the Twitch API would have forced us to rebuild most of our existing codebase and that is too much for us. By the way, if adventurous tinkerers want to rebuild on top of the foundation we have laid out, we welcome it. Just sent a DM on Twitter if you are interested with the code.
