Creating a More Casual Suit Outfit

So much of our advice is centered around being dressed to the nine’s that sometimes we forget people don’t need to look like a million bucks ALL the time. What if you need to look more casual in your suit? What are ways to turn your work outfit to a party look? Here are a couple simple tricks to take your outfit to the next level.

  1. Sweaters

A great look for the winter months. While you can always wear a dress shirt and a tie underneath the sweater, for a more laid back look, leave those two at home. If you’re working at a more casual environment this can make you look very fashion forward, and is a great look for going out on the town. Bonus if the sweater is striped.

2. No Tie, Open Collar

A simple fix that immediately says you’re out on the town, not out for a job interview. This style is used by plenty of male celebrities when they want to add a little fun and sexy look to their outfit. And if it’s good enough for them, it can definitely work for you.

3. Wear Sneakers instead of dress shoes

This riskier look takes the right kind of man with the right kind of style. It’s a fun and simple way of creating a more laid-back look. Keep in mind the style of your sneakers should keep up with the style of your suit. Check back soon for more helpful sneaker advice.

4. Swap the slacks for jeans

The favorite outfit of office creatives everywhere, a solid pair of jeans with a tucked in shirt, and either a jacket or a vest is the perfect look for staying stylish and casual out on the town.
