I have noticed the same thing. The articles which were easier to write generally do better than those that I take more time over. Writing quickly often results in more ‘heart’ and less ‘head’ and maybe readers are responding to that.

I also wonder whether more in-depth articles about complicated subjects that interest us need more time than the week the Writing Challenge allows us!
