The Photographers’ Gallery was founded in 1971 and it is the largest photography gallery in the heart of London, 20–30 exhibitions were held in the gallery every year. Their mission and vision are to champion photography for everyone, stimulate public understanding and deeper engagement with photography and its value to society.

The Photographers’ Galleries is a registered charity and the leading center for the presentation and exploration of Photography in all its from and a dedicated home for an international photographic community. They also support new talented photographers, UK-based practitioners, individuals, companies, trusts and foundations to promote their work, keep photography continually develop in the contemporary culture. They also did historical archives and established artists, offer internships and also provide the venue for hire. Also, all the profits from online sales are supporting the public program.

In 2007, it has altered by an Irish architect to a 5 — floor red bricks warehouse combined with modern architecture. On the new fourth and fifth floors, which both contain galleries, it provides a very large and bright space with many white walls for an exhibition. Lectures and workshops will take place on the third floor, an environmentally-controlled gallery is on the second floor; office and a cafe are on the first floor. A bookshop and print salesroom occupy the basement.

An annual photography award for a living photographer in any nationality that established by the gallery- The Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize is collaborate with The Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation,which is a non-profit organisation specifically focused on the collecting, exhibiting and promoting of contemporary photography.

Currently they are exhibiting four exhibitions in the gallery. One is the work of the 2017 Photography Foundation Prize.
