Gayatri Mantra- The ultimate remedy for planet Sun.
When planet Sun is ill placed in the chart a person is often lost in life. Have no specific goals and often find it hard to get a good position in a job, and do not get fame easily. Afflicted sun also gives health issues which are quite difficult to solve. Planet sun is the natural lord of 5th house and is exalted in the ascendant as per the kalpurush kundali. Sun is also the significator of father, fame, authority, identity and soul. If planet sun is afflicted in chart then these significations are bound to suffer. In order to improve these significations there is a very good remedy that can be done by everyone.
Sun likes discipline, routine and repetition. Sun rises in the east and sets in the west and it will continue to do it irrespective of any issues. To improve sun the person should do at least one activity related to this signification on the same time everyday. The most famous remedy of sun is to offer arghya. Arghya refers to “libation of water” and represents one of the various daily ceremonies performed during puja (worship).
The Gayatri mantra is dedicated to Savitur, a solar deity. The mantra is attributed to the much revered sage Viśvāmitra, who is also considered the author of Mandala 3 of the Rigveda. The Gayatri mantra with svaras is in Devanagari:
ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः
तत्स॑वि॒तुर्वरे॑ण्यं॒
भर्गो॑ दे॒वस्य॑ धीमहि।
धियो॒ यो नः॑ प्रचो॒दया॑त्॥
Literal translations of the words are below after splitting the sandhi:
- oṃ — The sacred syllable, praṇava;
- bhūr — The earth;
- bhuvaḥ — The atmosphere;
- svaḥ — The heaven;
- tat — that;
- savituḥ — of Savitṛ (Sun god);
- vareṇyam — best amongst;
- bhargoḥ — Splendour;
- devasya — of the devas (Gods);
- dhīmahi — May we meditate;
- dhiyoḥ — Buddhi (Intellect);
- yoḥ — he who;
- naḥ — Our;
- pracodayāt: shall lead.
Chanting this mantra regularly helps in improving concentration and focus on the present. Helps in improving our vision and provides instant positivity to mind. We are able to take better actions and lead a better life if we continuously chant this mantra.
