A Christmas Poem, courtesy of AI

I asked a chatbot to write a poem about Christmas. Here’s what happened.

I’ve tried a few different artificial intelligence (AI) writing programs over the past few weeks. One I talked about here, and was fairly surprised with the results. My second attempt was for a Twitter post, and it was not good at all. (I’ll probably write about that soon, but that experience was trash worthy.) Since it’s Christmas season, I decided to give ChatGPT a whirl to see what would happen. Here’s ChatGPT’s Christmas poem:

Twinkling lights and festive cheer,

Christmas is here once again.

Trees adorned with ornaments bright,

Filling homes with warmth and light.

Families gather round the fire,

Sharing love and hearts that aspire.

Gifts are given with love and care,

Showing how much we truly dare.

Children’s eyes light up with glee,

As they tear into their presents with glee.

Carols fill the air with joy,

As we all try to employ.

The spirit of Christmas is alive,
