I think my comment was a little unclear; I’m fine with bullish language and I absolutely agree that UX agencies, and even teams working client-side should be upfront and transparent about what is necessary and that clients shouldn’t be paying for bloated or unnecessary process… my only gripe is that in my experience there are occasions where research prior to starting to even ideation is a great thing.

It’s not the bought-in clients I’d worry about your statement affecting, but those who remain to be convinced.
