What to Do During Non-GMO Month
Clearly, there are problems with ingesting GMOs and the word is getting out. October is Non-GMO Month, a time to be aware as well as help raise awareness of the hazards of GMOs. This is the perfect time to learn more about GMOs and to detox to remove GMOs from the body.
According to the Non-GMO Project, which launched Non-GMO Month,
GMOs, or genetically modified organisms, are plants or animals that have been genetically engineered with DNA from bacteria, viruses or other plants and animals. These combinations of genes from different species cannot occur in nature or in traditional crossbreeding.
Virtually all commercial GMOs are engineered to withstand direct application of herbicide and/or to produce an insecticide. Despite biotech industry promises, none of the GMO traits currently on the market offer increased yield, drought tolerance, enhanced nutrition, or any other consumer benefit.
Meanwhile, a growing body of evidence connects GMOs with health problems, environmental damage and violation of farmers’ and consumers’ rights.
Most developed nations do not consider GMOs to be safe, but they are wildly used in the United States in production of processed foods, commercially baked foods, “healthy foods,” even pharmaceuticals and nutritional supplements.
There seems to be a direct connection between ingesting food with GMOs and suffering from medical conditions such as leaky gut syndrome, which is related to inflammation. Leaky gut syndrome occurs when thelarge intestine is damaged by pesticide and herbicide residue as well as harsh preservatives and synthetics present in processed food and then leaks these substances into the bloodstream instead of moving them out of the body as waste material. Once released into the bloodstream, these chemicals alarm the immune system to fight the foreign matter, causing constant inflammation and weakening the immune system and the cardio-vascular pathways, opening the body up to many different health ailments.
One way to deter leaky gut syndrome and reduce inflammation is through a body detox. The DetoxForHealth™ offers a proprietary 28-Day S.I.M.P.L.E. Body Detox Program, a holistic plan based on:
- Anti-inflammatory Food Pyramid;
- Body Detox through nutrition and exercise;
- Orthomolecular medicine (using nutritional supplements for targeted results).
Following the DetoxForHealth™ program is a path towards reaching optimal general health, which can include, but is not limited to:
- achieving and maintaining healthy levels of insulin, glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides;
- lowering blood pressure and inflammation;
- improving digestion and healing the gut;
- increasing energy level and physical performance;
- improving mental clarity and focus;
- reducing stress;
- reducing aches and pains;
- reducing PMS symptoms (women);
- achieving and maintaining ideal weight.
By following the DetoxForHealth™ program, participants can sufficiently improve diet and then may use additional supplements to help the body heal the wall of the gut and improve the body’s function at a cellular level – a true metabolic makeover – leading to an overall slower aging process and a healthier self.
Becoming informed about GMOs is a great place to start ( http://www.nongmoproject.org/learn-more/gmos-and-your-family/), and we hope that after, consumers will grow more motivated to take action, improve diet and become healthier.
