But with 11,000 people crowded along the border, plus numerous food distributions and very limited washing facilities (not to mention a lot of wind and rain) — trash is inevitable. Many of the refugees take pride in their temporary homes, for some this is a coping mechanism. Families have built sunshades from tarpaulins and rope, made brooms from tree branches and even decorated with ivy.
