The conflict in Syria has been going for five years and it is difficult for people to put their lives on hold for that long, especially when there is no end in sight. Many tried to continue with life in Syria until they reached breaking point or violence became unbearable, and often had to flee with very little forewarning. This family left Syria only two months beforehand, they were trying to wait until after the baby was born but they were frightened for the safety of their other children.
