I’m not a fan of partisan obstructionism in government. Rather than acting as a check and balance, it instead makes the obstructing party seem like a spoiled child:

I’m not getting my way so I’m just going to sit here and sulk until I get what I want.

But there are times when partisan obstructionism may serve a useful purpose.
