Should College Be Giving Us More for Our Money?

11 years out of undergrad and 6 out of grad, I am still of the belief that universities are not and should not be trade schools or tech schools. The role of the classes you take is to educate you on your chosen subject. It’s not their role to teach you how to be an employee. It’s up to the student to decide whether or not that deal is worth the money.

On campus, I see the bridge between education and employment to lie with non-class organizations, whether through career advisors, alumni associations, internships, or clubs.
