Should Your Job Cover Babysitting If You Have To Work Late?

I actually know of a company that pays for pet-sitting. It’s a huge company that sends some of their employees to foreign countries for a few weeks at a time. Not sure if it pays for child-sitting, though.

On a side note, I will never understand the thought-process behind a company’s decision to nickel-and-dime their employees. Occasional free food and office-hour celebrations that don’t count against your billable hours go a long way to engender loyalty and good productivity. I, for one, am more productive and less likely to steal office supplies when I feel the company values me and treats me like a human.
