We are the same as plants, as trees, as other cats, as the rain that falls. We consist of that which is around us, we are the same as everything.
Miaowtama Buddha

One of his students asked Miaowtama Buddha: “Are you the Messiah?”
“No,” answered Miaowtama Buddha.
“Then are you a healer?”
“No,” Miaowtama Buddha replied.
“Then are you a teacher?” the student persisted.
“No, I am not a teacher.”
“Then what are you?” asked the student exasperated.
“I am a cat,” Miaowtama Buddha replied.

The foolish feline who thinks she is wise is just a fool. The foolish feline who knows she is a fool is wise indeed.
Miaowtama Buddha

Miaowtama Buddha was speaking in a village square one day, when one of the inhabitant dogs started to abuse him.
Miaowtama Buddha paused and said to the dog: “If you offer me a bone and I refuse to accept it, what happens to the bone?”
“Why, it stays with me, of course,” the dog replied.
Miaowtama Buddha smiled cheshirely: “And that is exactly what I am doing with your abuse,” he said. “I am not accepting it, therefore it stays with you.”
