Call To Action: Finish 2016 Like A Boss

Sup, September? Welcome to the most momentous, activated, inspiring month of the year.

This can be the month that redirects your current trajectory for 2016 and has you strutting into 2017 like you own the place. Not to mention ya girl turns 25 *hair fluff emoji*.

With only 1/3rd of the year left, now is the time. Now is the time to give yourself permission to do whatever you’ve been waiting for permission to do. Now is the time to get really really honest about what you’ve been holding off on. What’s intimidatingly inspiring? What’s something you would take action on if only you had ______? What’s a dream you’ve been incubating for months or years? What’s that vague idea you know you want to do, generally speaking, but you’re just not clear enough on what it is yet?

Now’s the time to look that motherfucker dead in the eye and be like “I own you.”

Here’s the challenge:

  1. Start. Let it be sloppy. (I was!)
  2. Commit to something that excites the hell out of you between now and the end of the year. I recommend 100 of something before the year’s up because it’s simple and it gives you momentum. But if you’ve got your sights set on something else, be my guest.
  3. Tell me about it. Either comment right here, comment on the FB post or message me privately. I want to know what y’all are up to. (I’ma use it in a later post so don’t skimp on this step.)

You don’t have to get this exactly right — you just have to commit to something that’s aligned with a goal or a vision or a possibility that fills you with enthusiasm. Trust your gut on this. I don’t think I’ll be a blogger my whole life — blogging wasn’t my goal. Putting myself out there was.

Maybe you’ve done a challenge like this before. Maybe you’re skeptical. Maybe you’re reluctant because of something that happened in the past. I feel you. And who, besides you, is to say this time wont be different? If you read my last post (When You’re Stuck, Fail), you’ll know I’m the least disciplined person ever. Something shifted. Maybe it shifted for you too. I know one good way to find out…

I have a little magnet in my bathroom that says,

“At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want.” — Lao Tzu
