Module 10 and 11

What can you do as a preservice teacher to challenge the traditional education assessment paradigm?

As we begin to move from being a preservice teacher to a graduate level teacher there are many assessment practices that could be incorporated in to my classroom.

Some examples of this is implementing oral assessment, PBLs and technology in place of traditional assessment and activities. This gives students who are struggling with reading or writing a chance to show their abilities despite their weaknesses in other areas of school content.

These types of assessment will also allow students to use their imagination and creativity and to think outside of the box and allow for equal opportunities. Moving away from traditional education assessment will enable students to engage with the task more thoroughly and create a deeper engagement and therefore understanding of the content.

A single golf clap? Or a long standing ovation?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
