What is the design technologies curriculum?
The design technologies curriculum was developed to allow students to use design thinking and technologies to generate and produce designed solutions that can be transferred for everyday life. Student will begin to develop coordination and dexterity, experimenting with different solutions and processes.
There are four aspects in the design technology curriculum
- Food and fibre production
- Food specialisation
- Materials and technologies specialisation
- Engineering principles and systems
Why is it important to my future role?
As a teacher is my aim to create critical users of technology and producers of designed solutions that constantly question and challenge their ideas to always be improving. This curriculum will enable students to apply their knowledge and practical skills to produce designed solutions, evaluate the process and understand the roles and responsibilities of people in the design and technologies career.
