There are certain guidelines you must follow in Broadcasting, ones that the AP stylebook wont contain.

With these guidelines the reader will be able to speak clearly with these

In broadcast style you are writing for the ear

Titles always come before names

If words are hard to pronounce, use “phonetic” spelling

Don’t use abbreviations except for a.m/p.m doctor,

For complicated numbers, write out the word for them, round-off whenever you can

For broadcasting, attribution comes before “Professor Bonebright says…”

Personalize the news, “speak to the audience”
