You need to take a closer look at those rideshare policies. They are not commercial coverage. The are GAP insurance. They fill in blanks where Uber and Lyft’s umbrella coverage fails to cover, such as the driver (in some cases).
Simply ask Geico or any of them and explain that you plan to pick up paying passengers WITHOUT the Uber or Lyft app on. Let us know how that conversation goes.
