Here’s Why I’m Obsessed with Syfy’s Face Off

As in any office, my co-workers enjoy discussing the most buzzed about TV shows. Have you finished Orange is the New Black? You gotta watch a show called This Is Us on NBC! A show that nobody ever mentions (at my office at least) is Face Off on Syfy.

Face Off has been a staple on Syfy for 12 seasons. For those who may be unaware, Face Off is a makeup show like none other. Artists from around the world compete to create the most inventive characters using special effects makeup.

I have absolutely no talent for painting or drawing. Creating art with my hands is not something that comes natural for me…it’s similar to sticking a round block into a square hole…A “No Go”. I think this is where my obsession begins. I’m sure a therapist would mention that my creative brain finds satisfaction in seeing others create something that you cannot.

That might be true…BUT….Who wouldn’t be astounded by this artwork?

Has Laura ever sucked? The answer is of course…NO!

You’ve fainted now…I’m sorry.

I know you’re still on the floor after looking at a few of Laura’s amazing characters, but sit up and prepare to faint again.

There was also a Tim Burton challenge in season two. It was as I expected…INSANE!

R.J created this Bellhop character.

The power of paint and latex is a miracle.

R.J would’ve won, but Rayce pulled out this minor miracle…

Who can forget when Miranda and Tate presented this masterpiece to the judges?

Earlier this year, Face Off decided have All-Stars return and complete in Teams. Of course, it was amazing. Cig and George were unstoppable with characters like…

But Emily and Tyler weren’t too far behind.

It’s not too late to checkout the show! The new season of Face Off is currently airing Tuesdays on Syfy.

I’ll leave you with this terrifying (yet gorgeous) piece of artwork and a wish Goodnight!
