Why Developers are Happier Compared to other Industries
We all at one point or the other have either worked a job that we couldn't stand or have known someone who has been in this position. Finding a job that you actually enjoy going to is not easy. Whether its the traditional 9–5 schedule, heavy traffic and long commute, annoying co-workers, or terrible management we all have our reasons for hating our job. Spending most if not all of your adult life confined to your desk is definitely not the life we dreamed of ourselves having. Unfortunately, this is a very real reality for many of us. What most people don´t know is that the tech industry is booming WOLRDWIDE offering not just competitve comfortable salaries but also plenty of remote work options, flexible hours, and most importantly a happier quality of life. Being stuck a to desk for hours upon hours is NOT a must as a developer. In fact, many developers are travelling the world and working from remote locations and using their free time to discover new places.
Remote Work Options
With just few clicks on google you can find developers posting articles and pictures on their blogs from co working spaces from Spain, Bulgaria, and Thailand. Many of these countries offer cheap living expenses and are welcoming ¨digital nomads¨and remote workers into their economies by creating tons of co-working spaces. Many of these co working spaces even offer co-living packages. Did you know you could live next to the beach on the coast of Spain for only 25 euros a day in a co-working space with like minded innovators? Yes. Thats right you heard me.

Higher Salaries
Have you ever dreamed of making a six figure salary but thought of it as nothing more than a dream? According to Glassdoor, the US median salary for front-end developers is more than $75,000. A tech job in Silicon Valley can EASILY earn well over $100,000. This is something we at KeepCoding keep metioning but jobs in tech are in high demand. With homelessness and unemployement on the rise within the United States we cannot stress enough how many doors are waiting to be opened in the tech industry. Now we all know that money is not the key to happiness but it definitely allows you a more comfortable lifestyle and financial freedom. You will have the freedom to leave your boring old town, your abusive relationship, freedom to pursue your passions, etc. A job in the tech industry can do a lot more than just give you fat paycheck every month.

The most important thing about being a developer (web developer, app developer, etc) is that you are making the choice to have a better quality of life.
