“Fear is the only devil in this world.” (Mahatma K. Gandhi)
Believing in that man who died on the cross and simply told people to have courage and love each other, has ab-so-lu-te-ly nothing to do with theology, religion as a hierarchical and politicised system, or any other dogmatic structure that is only trying (and succeeding) in making us into un-free, non-thinking, non-critical beings who follow guidelines from before birth to after death.
Heaven and hell only exist on this planet. We have a responsibility and goal by and within ourselves and during this life: to try to do our best to keep this planet safe and sound, and to treat it with respect. Our bodies are material, they are temples of our souls. They serve us well. To think, teach, and proclaim that anything about them is negative or should be suppressed, is the first step towards an unnatural approach of life on this planet. There was no initial sin, there was no initial immortality turned into mortality by the need to have sex. Eve is not to blame for giving the “apple” to Adam. There wasn’t even a snake. Satan is a figment of the imagination of those who fear ghosts in the dark. Never forget those stories were written by someone, a living being, with the purpose of binding people to dogmas.
I don’t believe in gods who punish and give favours to some and not to others. The universe by itself is sacred. We are a physical part of that universe. Our bodies and minds therefore are sacred. All we have to do is listen carefully and look deeply into ourselves, to find back that visible and invisible link that binds us all together. Yes, it is that simple. That man on the cross said simple things. All those who came after him and started making up the stories, the guidelines, rules, rituals, and dogmas, made things incredibly complicated and difficult to understand. With a purpose — their own purpose, not the one of the universe.
