I had actually seen a total eclipse once before when I was in about 5th grade. It was the 1970 eclipse that included North Carolina. My Dad was stationed at Fort Bragg at the time.

I saw this one last month in Columbia, SC where my Mom lives. I have to say seeing it as an adult made it more awesome because I understood better what was happening. We still have a place in Indianapolis and I hope to see that next one again in 2024.

I figure seeing three total eclipses in a lifetime is doing pretty good.
