I would argue that cheering for the suffering of someone else is tone-deaf, but so goes the value of name calling, I guess.

Anti-human. Was that word choice careless, just for a big impact? Or do you really think I’ve crossed a line and forfeited my humanity for what I wrote above?

I’d like to find common ground, but it seems difficult here. I guess I’d say that McCain is a piece of a system, and I’ve never been in the habit of denying people their belief that they have been hurt by that system. (But, again, Obama is a piece of that system. Will we be mocking him and every other defender of the neo-liberal order when they get sick?)

You said you’re not going to be celebrating the death personally. I think that’s for the good. I wish more conservatives, for example, learned to not punch down when someone is suffering, either.

But this chastisement for my chastisement isn’t going to accomplish much. I wish you the best. Thanks for being my first commenter.
