God’s New Words Bring Us the Way to Practice the Truth (III)
Later, Sister Yu often came to our church to have meetings, so brothers and sisters treated her as a member of our church. One day after a month, we were having a meeting together when Sister Li came in with a smile on her face and said excitedly, “Sister Yu, thank the Lord very much! I didn’t expect that my chief manager paid me an extra month’s salary this time. That’s really the Lord’s blessing! I will no longer hate him.” Sister Yu said, “Sister, you’re indignant when you receive less salary, and so happy when you gain more salary. Let’s dissect what nature directs you to do so.” After she heard that, Sister Li’s smile disappeared. She said to Sister Yu reasonably, “It was he himself who gave me more money. I didn’t steal or rob. Was this a sin? I think it was the blessing from the Lord.” Sister Yu said, “Sister! Did you get that money from hard work? No, it was not gained by your labor. Will you feel peaceful within when spending that unearned money? Are you accused in your conscience? Do you remember what we fellowshipped last time that no matter what we encounter, we should accept it from God? It is a trial of God that comes upon us again. What God looks at is our attitude. He hopes that we can all stand testimony like Job.”
As Sister Yu said, she took out the notebook from her bag, opened it, and began to read, “‘For example, why are you selfish? Why do you maintain your position? Why is your emotion so strong? Why do you like the unrighteous things and evil? What is the basis of these things? Where do they come from? Why do you like and accept these things? Now you understand that it is mainly because you have Satan’s poisons within. What are Satan’s poisons? They can be fully expressed in words. Suppose you ask some evil-doers, “Why did you do that?” They will say “every man for himself and the Devil take the hindmost.” This word alone expresses the root of the problem: Satan’s logic has become man’s life. Man does this or that, which is totally for themselves. They all think that every man for himself and the Devil take the hindmost and it is factual, so they shall live for themselves. “Be an official thousands of miles away from home just for food and clothes,” and this is man’s life, man’s philosophy, which also represents man’s nature. This word of Satan is exactly Satan’s poison. It has been wrought into man and become his nature. Satan’s nature is revealed and fully represented by this word. This kind of poison has become his life and the foundation of his existence. Over several thousand years, corrupt mankind has been living under its direction until now.’ (from Christ’s Talks with Church Leaders and Workers) This passage tells us all man’s thoughts, philosophies of life, and viewpoints on things come from Satan. Our hearts have been occupied by Satan’s poisons. Hence, Satan’s poisons become our nature, and we expose Satan’s poisons in our life at any time. The root of man’s selfishness is that the word ‘every man for himself and the Devil take the hindmost’ has been rooted in our hearts and become our lives. So, no matter what we do, we will first think of our own interests, gains and losses, and never consider others. When something comes upon us, we don’t seek what is God’s will in it. What we pursue are position, fame, fortune, money, and fleshly enjoyments. All these are evil and corrupt; none of them is in accordance with God’s will. Adam and Eve created by God in the beginning were holy and not corrupted by Satan. They didn’t need to do hard work, for God had bestowed upon them all things for enjoyment. Later, they didn’t listen to God’s words and ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, and from then on Satan’s poisons took root in man’s heart. After we men were corrupted by Satan, we unconsciously live by Satan’s rules of living and philosophies of life, and live in sins without thinking they are sins.”
Taking a sip of water, Sister Yu continued saying, “I was once faced with such a temptation: At that time, I brought a scooter. When I came back home and counted the remaining money, I found I underpaid him by 300 yuan. Then, there was a battle in my heart: Should I pay it back or not? Maybe the owner of the store doesn’t find that. Later, I thought of the words I read just now, and reflected on myself and realized, ‘That thought comes from Satan. Isn’t that selfishness and baseness? God will be very sad when He sees my deed! Since I believe in God, I should stand testimony for God, satisfy God’s will and not fall into Satan’s scheme.’ The next day, I paid back 300 yuan, and the owner shed grateful tears. He said that he hadn’t expected that there was such a good man in the world and he never met such a good man. I replied to him that I was a believer in God and it was God who changed me. When I thought of God gaining glory in me, I felt very joyful and had enjoyment in my heart. I was pretty happy that I could stand testimony for God and shame Satan. I also appreciated God’s kind and thoughtful heart of saving man. He not only became flesh personally and was crucified on the cross to redeem man, but also expresses many words to lead man and supply the need of man. At the same time, God orchestrates all things carefully so that, when we encounter something, we can rely on the words expressed by Him to stand testimony as Job did. Then we can gain the life from God and can thus cast off our corrupt satanic dispositions completely and be saved at last. I see God indeed loves us so much.”
When she said that, her voice was choked with emotion. She paused for a little while to control her mood, and then said, “God’s love moved my heart deeply. Under the calling of God’s love, my conscience was revived gradually. After that, I made a resolution that I would believe in God seriously, pursue a transformation of my disposition, and live out the likeness of a real man to glorify God’s name.” After hearing that, the brothers and sisters were greatly moved. Some of them had tears in their eyes, and some were rendered speechless. Sister Li said, “Sister, what you said is in line with the truth. I shouldn’t do anything that shames the Lord and I will pursue to change myself and live like a real man.” At that time, Leader Han asked with a surprising expression, “Sister Yu, I wonder all along where the words in your notebook come from. These words don’t deviate from the Bible but are higher and brighter than those in the Bible.” Sister Yu said excitedly, “Brothers and sisters, frankly speaking, the Lord Jesus we have expected for a long time has returned. He has descended in secret among man and has become flesh again to do the work of judging, purifying, and saving man by expressing words. The words of God extracted in my notebook are the words expressed by Almighty God, Christ of the last days. When God comes into the world of man this time, He ends the Age of Grace and brings the Age of Kingdom. He expresses millions of words of truth, reveals all mysteries we didn’t understand before, discloses the nature and substance of corrupt mankind, and shows us the way to get rid of satanic disposition. At the same time, He makes God’s disposition and what God has and is known to mankind. Let’s read another passage of Almighty God’s word.”
Then Sister Yu took out a book titled “The Scroll Opened by the Lamb” from her bag and read, “Almighty God says, ‘After the work of Jehovah, Jesus became flesh to do His work amongst man. His work was not carried out in isolation, but built upon the work of Jehovah. It was work for a new age after God had concluded the Age of Law. Similarly, after the work of Jesus ended, God still continued His work for the next age, because the entire management of God is always progressing forward. When the old age passes, it will be replaced by a new age, and once the old work has been completed, a new work will continue the management of God. …
When Jesus came into the world of man, He brought the Age of Grace and ended the Age of Law. During the last days, God once more became flesh, and when He became flesh this time, the Age of Grace ended and the Age of Kingdom began. All those who accept the second incarnation of God will be led into the Age of Kingdom, and be able to personally accept the guidance of God. Though Jesus did much work among man, He only completed the redemption of all mankind and became man’s sin offering, and did not rid man of all his corrupt disposition. Fully saving man from the influence of Satan not only required Jesus to take on the sins of man as the sin offering, but also required God to do greater work to completely rid man of his disposition, which has been corrupted by Satan. And so, after man was forgiven his sins, God returned to flesh to lead man into the new age, and began the work of chastisement and judgment, which brought man to a higher realm. All those who submit under His dominion shall enjoy higher truth and receive greater blessings. They shall truly live in the light, and shall gain the truth, the way, and the life.’ (from The Word Appears in the Flesh) From Almighty God’s words, we see the management of God is always progressing forward. The work done by Jesus was only to redeem man from sins, but not to take away the sinful nature from man. So, although we receive the sin offering of God, we still can’t break free from the situation of committing and confessing sins. When God returns to flesh among man this time, He continues His work in the Age of Grace, judges and purifies man by expressing words, and thereby thoroughly saves man from Satan’s domain and brings man into the next age. Brothers and sisters, these words of God I read during this period of time are the words expressed by Almighty God. Do you think these words are very practical? Aren’t they the words of life which are essential for our daily life? God’s word can be our life, show us the way to practice the truth, and solve all difficulties we meet in our everyday life.”
Hearing that, I stood up excitingly and said, “Sister Yu, after hearing your recent fellowships, I understand that this way is the true way that tells man how to believe in God, and how to break away from the affliction of Satan and change the corrupt disposition of man so that man can be completely purified and saved in the end. I acknowledge that all these words are the utterance of God. Almighty God is the return of the Lord Jesus.” With a serious expression on his face, Leader Han said, “These words come from the Holy Spirit. But I won’t accept it rashly. I want to investigate it for some time.” Sister Yu said happily, “The Lord Jesus taught us: ‘Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.’ (Matthew 5:3) ‘Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.’ (Matthew 5:6) As long as we investigate this way with a seeking heart, I believe that God will enlighten us.” Afterwards, Sister Yu fellowshipped about other pieces of God’s word with us: “Knowing the Three Stages of God’s Work Is the Path to Knowing God,” “Only Christ of the Last Days Can Give Man the Way of Eternal Life,” and so on. Through a period of fellowship and investigation, most brothers and sisters of our church accepted God’s work of the last days. We get out of the plight that there was no way to go forward, and truly feel that Almighty God — Christ of the last days has brought us the perpetual way of the truth.
