Yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit MOHAI for the first time with my company Glympse. I’ve wanted to go for awhile now. This is a local treasure sharing Seattle’s history from maritime adventures, city development, and innovative technologies.

There is currently an exhibit on prohibition. I had a great time following the dance steps on the floor for popular dances during that era. I lost myself in the videos and fashion of the time. I even had the chance to stand in a line up with Al Capone and Lucky Luciano (pictured here).

I was able to see how the city was constructed, the removal of Denny Hill and the process of building the floating bridges. These hands-on exhibits makes the MOHAI fun for all ages.

I especially enjoyed the quotes from the innovative leaders of the Seattle area. I’m always inspired by little nuggets of wisdom from industry leaders like Howard Schultz, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, and Paul Allen. Seattle also had the first woman mayor in an American City in 1926 — Bertha Knight Landes. We have not had a woman mayor in Seattle since she served.

I learned so much from my day at the MOHAI and I happy to donate to their annual fund. i hope you will check out the museum and donate too!
