People Are DIY-ing EpiPens Because Costs Are Too High

I don’t know anyone with an Epipen, but my boyfriend has type 1 diabetes and so keeps a glucagon kit around (for emergency low blood sugar episodes). Unlike the Epipen, it doesn’t have an auto-injector, just a vial and syringe. For the record, as the person most likely to have to administer it to him, a vial+syringe is *not* super easy to use and the kit’s instructions recommend that I practice on him using his regular insulin vial+syringe to get comfortable with it before he needs it. This is why the Epipen was invented in the first place!
