Ok, this has been bothering me since the first Helaine Olen story about 401ks being “not enough.”

Yes, of course people need to save more, in absolute terms, than their parents did (because inflation) but the real point here is that millennials are being advised to save more, percentage-wise, than their parents did (because inflation + stagnant wages).
