Surveillance and Security Gadget Roundup
With increased accessibility to high-end technology and companies offering more affordable gadgets everyday, it’s no wonder that the industry of home security and surveillance is growing by leaps and bounds. According to an article in Streetwise Tech, the public has been on the hunt for smarter surveillance systems since the dawn of early sci-fi films. After all, the technology of a fully automated home with accessible utilities that could be controlled remotely was often writ about in books and films. Today, home appliances are nearing that reality, and that includes security gadgets, cameras, and data backup devices.
Home security systems now allow for anyone to lock up their home, adjust lighting, and even turn off the faucet with the touch of their finger on an iPad.
Video surveillance aims mainly at protecting the house or preventing crime in a certain area, and before it was often views as a luxury. Today, camera systems are not only affordable but small and easy to hide. What’s more, the systems now come with backup sources, a decide that backs up periodically all of the data stored by the video recorder, even allowing for film to be stored in the cloud.
Many homes opt for a spy camera for the door with an LCD screen and photo/video recording direct to a memory card. The ST-PDC16 camera (left), for example, can be adaptable to any kind of door, and features 140 degrees of viewing angle, 0.3 Mega Pixel CMOS sensor, 960 x 240 maximum resolution and zoom. It even offers an infrared LED to support clear night vision.
Regardless of any household’s needs or budget, a surveillance system or individual security gadgets could be fitted to a home. Though the smart home system of sci-fi memories is not exactly up and running, we can be sure we are closer than ever.
