Culture is not just an invisible force, it is applied through the people we deal with directly. Many of your examples deal with people you know or have dealt with. The irony is it is often applied by people with (technically) good (over protective) intentions. And is often a product of treating the sexes differently solely based on sex. This becomes an issue when writers of the article claim to want to help women, but encourage the promotion of sexist behaviour.
