Delia directed me to this. I’m glad she did. Nice recounting of the event and also of its effect on you. It felt very familiar. I went to my first TEDx in a prison in 2013. Wrote about it here. Asked the prisoners to write about it from their perspective here. Then also wrote about my 7th event. Like you, I knew I would return, and I did the next year, then after a six months, now I go many times a year. That can happen. Prisons exist in our blindspot. There is so much to understand and for people to know about so that we can all begin to untangle the real from the imagined. Thanks for writing this.
